Bucknell's Swimming and Diving Started The Season With The Orange and Blue

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Both the Bucknell University men's and women's swimming & diving squads competed in an intrasquad meet, the Orange vs. Blue, on Friday, Oct. 25 in Arthur J. Kinney Natatorium.
For the women's competition, the Orange team won the meet, with 130 points, over the Blue team, who compiled 113 points. The meet started with the women's 400 medley. Orange A team placed first, which included Lectie Altman, Jamie Flick, Becky Dolan, and Meghan Freese, with a time of 4:05.85.
In the women's 1000 freestyle, the Blue team's Daniela Faas grabbed first with a time of 10:43.20. The Orange team's Jackie Feinthel marked second with a time of 11:02.63. Mary Krakowski finished the 200 butterfly first with a time of 2:15.59 for the Blue team, while the Orange team's Vanessa Scaringi marked 2:17.61 for second place.
During the 200-yard backstroke, Lectie Altman tallied first place with a time of 2:07.89, for the Orange team. Jamie Flick locked in first for the Orange team during the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:30.72. In the 3-meter diving competition, the Blue team's Sarah Petcavage registered 204.20 for a first place finish.
On the men's side of the competition, the Blue team captured the 139-95 victory. The Blue A team marked first in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:38.40. The relay included Chris Feinthel, Stelios Saffos, Mark Kretzer, and Todd Bauer.
During the men's 1000 freestyle event, the Blue team's Gonzalo Diaz placed first with a time of 10:25.49. In the 200- free the Blue team added more points with Todd Bauer's 1:50.65 finish for first place.
In the 200-yard backstroke, the Blue team's Chris Feinthel and Mark Kretzner locked in the top two time slots, with 2:01.37 and 2:04.04. Will Schilling, an Orange team member, captured the top notch during the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.54. Adding points for the Orange team was Adam Freeman who tallied 230.95 points during the 3-meter diving competition.
The men's and women's teams will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for a meet against Drexel on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The Bison will start Patriot League competition against American and Navy on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Arthur J. Kinney Natatorium.
