Brown became the first Bison to ever win at the second flight, taking victories over the top-two seeds on her way to the winners stand. On the first day, she opened play with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lehigh's Maria Anorga, before knocking off top-seeded Kristina Georgieva of American, last year's champion, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4. The rookie claimed her first tournament title with an exciting 6-3, 7-5 win on Sunday over the second-seed, Annie Collier of Army. Brown trailed 5-0 in the second set before winning seven straight games for the victory. It was the ninth-straight singles win for Brown.
At number five singles, freshman top-seed Rheanna Gaskin took silver after dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision in the finals to second-seeded Cristina Lucin of Army.
In doubles play, the duo of sophomore Tanya Sichko and senior Jill Wurzburg advanced to the finals at the third flight with an 8-6 win against the number one seeded tandem of Melanie Bundoc and Amanda Paluch of Army. The pair fell in the championship match to Colgate's Lauren Erikson and Sheila Rao, the second seed, by a score of 8-1.
