LORETTO, Pa. - Freshman Kirsten Nilsen scored a pair of second-half goals and classmate Kelly O'Brien picked up the go-ahead tally to lift the Bucknell field hockey team to its first road victory of the season, 4-2 over Saint Francis (Pa.).
Saint Francis (0-11) scored first when Kate Arduini finished a pass from Samantha Nonweiler 10:40 into the contest.
The Bison (4-6) trailed for only 2:13, however, and surged ahead with four straight goals, the first coming on a penalty stroke from senior Amy Marvel. O'Brien put Bucknell ahead at the 20-minute mark, converting a Meiko Boynton feed.
Nilsen tacked on two insurance goals in the second half for her first career multi-goal game. Rookies Nilsen, O'Brien and Carli Cataldo have combined for 10 of Bucknell's 17 goals this season.
Boynton finished with two assists for Bucknell, while Marvel added an assist for a three-point afternoon.
Marissa Lynn finished the scoring for the Red Flash with an unassisted goal at the 60:24 mark.
Senior goalie Sonja Wettergreen finished with six saves as Bucknell outshot Saint Francis 18-9. Monica Nicoles stopped nine shots in the Red Flash cage.
