LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham), a member of the Bucknell University women's basketball team, has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the second week in a row for the week ending January 13.
Creamer put together one of the best all-around weeks of her career in a 2-0 showing for the Bison to open Patriot League play. She averaged 19.5 points per game, 8.5 assists per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game, as the Orange and Blue defeated Lafayette and Navy.
Against Lafayette, the 5-10 guard scored a team-best 23 points, including a 7-for-7 showing from the foul line, and handed out a game-high seven assists. Creamer matched her season-high with four steals in the 78-65 victory for the Bison, who improved their Patriot League opening record to 9-3.
At Navy on Saturday, Creamer tallied her first double-double of the season and third of her career with a 16 point, 10 assist effort in a 69-52 victory for Bucknell. She hit two more three-pointers in the contest, giving her 94 in her career, just three shy of the Bucknell all-time career record.
She is leading the team and is second in the Patriot League in scoring with 19.7 points per game, and her 1,303 career points place her sixth on the Bucknell all-time list. Creamer became just the sixth Bucknell player to score over 1,300 points in her career, and only the second to score over 1,300 points and hand out over 300 assists.
The Bison are currently 9-6 overall, 2-0 in the conference, and continue Patriot League competition with a home game against Army on Wednesday, January 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
