Bison Women's Basketball Heads to Navy for Patriot League Clash

ABOUT THE NAVY GAME: The Bison enter this afternoon's contest on a three-game streak after opening the Patriot League schedule with a 78-65 win over Lafayette on Wednesday. The Orange and Blue carry an 8-6 overall record into the contest, with a 2-3 mark on the road.
Navy also brings an 8-6 record into the game and an 0-1 mark in conference action. In their most recent outing, the Mids put four-time defending Patriot League champion Holy Cross to the test, dropping an 82-79 overtime struggle in Worcester, Mass.
THE NAVY SERIES: Navy leads in the series between the two schools, 13-11, but it has been all Bucknell in the past six meetings. The Midshipmen have not beat the Bison in over three years.
Last season, the Orange and Blue defeated Navy both times the two teams met. Bucknell squeaked out a 60-57 victory in Annapolis, Md. in both team's Patriot League opener, before handing the Mids an 85-66 defeat at home in February.
Navy's last win came on January 6, 1999, when the Mids defeated Bucknell in overtime, 65-58, in Annapolis, Md.
SCOUTING NAVY: The Mids carry an 8-6 overall record into this afternoon's contest after dropping their Patriot League opener in overtime at Holy Cross, 82-79. Navy opened the season with a 2-3 record, but then won six straight before dropping its last three. The Mids post a 4-1 record on their home court.
Sophomore Courtney Davidson is the team's leading scorer, putting up 20.6 points per game, tops in the conference and 19th in the nation. Two other players are averaging double-figures scoring as classmates Bryanna Herring and Maile Shimoda toss in 13.0 ppg and 11.9 ppg, respectively. Herring is the squad leader with 6.8 rebounds per game.
