
Bucknell Defeats Columbia 23-20 In OT

NEW YORK (AP) - Chris Lundberg's 32-yard field goal in overtime gave Bucknell a 23-20 victory over Columbia on Saturday night.
Lundberg's third field goal of the game capped a rally that brought the Bison back from a 10-point third-quarter deficit.
Columbia's Sam Warren, who made two earlier field goals, missed a 47-yard attempt on the game's final play.
Bucknell (1-1) tied it at 20 in the fourth quarter on a 90-yard drive, with Jabu Powell scoring from the 1 with 3:32 remaining.
Columbia (0-1) built a 20-10 lead in the third quarter as Warren hit the second of his two field goals, a 24-yarder, and Jeff McCall threw 40 yards to Steve Cargile for a touchdown.
But the Bison cut the lead to 20-13 on Lundberg's 27-yard field goal late in the third quarter.
Lundberg's first field goal, a 31-yarder, gave the Bison a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Lions answered when McCall threw a 36-yard scoring pass to Doug Peck.
Todd Wenrich's 4-yard pass to J.C.Morgan gave the Bison a 10-7 lead 6:32 into the second quarter before the Lions tied it on Warren's 39-yard field goal on their next possession.
Powell finished with 110 yards rushing on 27 carries for the Bison, while Johnathan Reese led the Lions with 99 yards on 25 rushes.
Wenrich completed 22 of 41 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns, and McCall was 16-of-25 for 194 yards and two TDs.
It was the fourth overtime game for each team since the institution of the tiebreaking rule. The Bison are 3-1 in the overtime, and the Lions are 2-2.
