Annapolis, Md. - The Bucknell men's golf team finished in 14th place at the Navy Spring Invitational today with a final total of 323 (+39), 29 strokes behind the first-place Georgetown Hoyas (294, +10). Freshman Charles Markey (Southampton, Bermuda/Saltus Grammar School) led the Bison with an 18-hole total of 77 and a tie for 28th place.
The Orange and Blue had difficulty navigating the USNA Golf Course in Annapolis, Md. as they finished in 14th place out of 14 schools. Also figuring into the mix for the Herd was senior Ken Kosteva (Berwick, Pa./Central Columbia) and sophomore Jimmy Freeman (Laguna Niguel, Calif./St. Margarets) who shot 80 and 81 on the par 71 course, respectively. Rounding out the five BU players was junior Nick Leibowitz (Danbury, Conn./Deerfield Academy) shooting an 85 and senior David Horton (Broad Top City, Pa./Tussey Mountain) with an 87.
The men's golf team will look to redeem themselves in a couple of weeks as they return to the same USNA Golf Course for the Patriot League Championships on Friday-Sunday, April 20-22.
