Women's Indoor Track Wraps-up Season With Record-Breaking Performances at ECAC's

Boston, Mass. - This past weekend the women's indoor track & field team participated in the ECAC championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. 12 athletes represented the women's team, but the most notable Bison performances of the entire weekend came from the women's 4x800-meter relay team.
Junior Becki Marshall (Montgomery, N.Y./Pine Bush Central) ran the 3000-meter run at the meet this weekend and set a personal record in the event with a time of 9:50.01. She already owns the second fastest time in school history and solidifies her second position with this time.
Stealing the show this weekend for the women's team was its 4x800-meter relay foursome of senior Laura Ryan (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon), junior Kelly McConnell (Danville, Pa./Danville), junior LaTonya McSwain (Cleveland, Ohio/Hawken), and junior Stephanie Bango (Smethport, Pa./Smethport). In the preliminary heat of the relay this foursome broke the two-year old school record with a time of 8:59.38. As records are made the be broken, the foursome broke their own record by running the relay in a time of 8:57.71 in the finals heat. The BU women's 4x800-meter relay team took third place at the ECAC meet and now hold the two fastest times in Bucknell indoor track history.
The women's indoor track & field team wraps up a successful 2000-01 season and will take some time off before gearing up for the outdoor season. The outdoor season officially begins on March 16-17, when the team travels to North Carolina for a meet at UNC.
