Bison Women's Golf Concludes Fall Season at ECAC's

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell University women's golf team closed out a highly-successful fall season with a fifth-place performance at the ECAC Women's Open Golf Championship this afternoon at the par-70, 5,895 yard Bucknell Golf Club. The Bison totaled 662 strokes to tie Yale for fifth out of 23 schools.
James Madison captured the team title with a 619 stroke-mark. Rounding out the top four in the team standings were Princeton (646), Brown (647) and William & Mary (658).
Princeton's Avery Kiser made up four strokes to catch day one leader Jessica Lewis of James Madison for the individual championship. Kiser edged out Lewis 147-148 after trailing 75-71 following day one.
After shooting a 328 on day one, Bucknell came through with a solid 334 over the final 18 holes. The Bison's top performer, junior Jess Hetrich produced an 81 on day two after a 78 on day one to finish in eighth place out of 120 competitors with a 159. Hilary Mainka also finished among the top 25 for the Bison. The senior shot an 84 on the second day to tie for 20th at 165 while competing in her final collegiate round during the fall season.
Completing the team scoring for the Bison were freshman Jaime Hays and junior Amy Jones. Hays tied for 37th at 170 after posting an 83 on day two, while Jones shot an 86 for the second day in a row to tie for 46th at 172. Other Bison who competed but did not compute into Bucknell's team scoring on the second day were junior Molly Campbell (tied for 41st, 171), senior Bridget O'Mara (tied for 75th, 183) and freshman Allison Kasic (tied for 84th, 186).
The Bison will open their spring schedule at the William & Mary Invitational to be held on March 29 through April 1.
