Bison Women's Golf Places 12th After Day One of William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Bucknell University women's golf team shot a 341, and after one day of competition the Bison are in 12th place at the William & Mary Invitational this afternoon.
Senior Hilary Mainka was Bucknell's top performer on the opening day of the invitational. Mainka shot an eight-over par 79 on the 5,851-yard course. She is currently tied for 25th place out of 86 competitors and five strokes behind overall leaders Sarah Seo of Yale, Ann Schnell of William & Mary, Allison Bourne-Vanne of William & Mary and Jennifer Beames of Rollins.
Junior Jess Hetrich is tied for 42nd after posting an 82-stroke performance over the first 18 holes.
Completing the team scoring for the Bison were freshmen Jaime Hays and Caitlin Sullivan, a pair that tied for 68th with a 90-stroke effort.
Senior Bridget O'Mara also competed, but did not figure into the team scoring. O'Mara is tied for 82nd at 101.
The Bison will conclude the invitational tomorrow before returning home for the Bucknell Invitational on April 6-7.
