Freshman Track Athlete Named Subway Athlete of the Month

Lewisburg, Pa. --- Bucknell freshman Jamie Lilien (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of January in Indoor Track & Field.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, January 22. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. Other winners for the month of January, as selected by the respective coaches, included junior Maribel Castillo in women's basketball and senior Molly Lowe in swimming.
Lilien, a multiple event competitor has already made an impact on the Bucknell top-ten performances chart as a freshman. She currently is in third all-time in the 55-meter hurdle with a time of 8.50, fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18'2 ?", and sixth in the high jump after clearing a height of 5'4 ?". Her coaches have utilized her talents in the shot put and 4x800 relay in addition to her usual compliment of events. This coming weekend in the Bison Open, Lilien will be competing in her first collegiate Pentathalon.
The women's indoor track & field team has put together another impressive season by going 3-0 in scoring meets and having solid performances in its non-scoring meets. Next chance to catch the team is this weekend, January 27 at the Bison Open in Gerhard FieldHouse or at Penn State University in the Nittany Lion Invitational.
