
Bison Fall To Kent State In Season Opener

COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER: Kent State 3, BUCKNELL 2
KENT, OHIO --- The Bucknell women's soccer team lost it's season opener this afternoon to a tough team from Kent State, 3-2. Freshman Lauren Caminati, scored three goals for the Golden Flashes in route to their first win of the season.
The Bison were the first on the scoreboard when freshman Kristie Simon (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp) scored her first collegiate goal at the 6:04 mark to give the Bison an early 1-0 lead in the first half. Kent State was quick to retaliate, tying the game with a goal at 15:59. The Orange and Blue regained the lead when freshman Savannah Rennels (Rector, Pa./Latrobe Area) ripped the net with an unassisted goal at 41:59, giving the Bison a 2-1 lead at halftime. In the second half, Kent State took the lead with 28:55 remaining in the game and never looked back.
The Bison are now 0-1 on the season and will face Bowling Green on Sunday, August 27 at 12:00 noon in the second game of the Kent State Tournament.
