Men's Soccer Defeats Visiting St. Peter's 2-1

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's soccer team got
back on the winning side with a 2-1 victory over visiting Saint
Peter's on Saturday, October 14.
Senior Geza Lendvai-Lintner (Madison, N.J./Madison) got the scoring
started for Bucknell, netting a pass from classmate Angelo Pace
(Bellmore, N.Y./Chaminade) at the 34:14 mark of the first half.
The Bison carried the 1-0 lead into the second frame.
With just over 15 minutes left to play in the contest, the Orange
and Blue staked themselves to a 2-0 lead when freshman Chris Beekman
(Neptune, N.J./Neptune) carried the ball up the field on a breakaway
and found senior Sam Graziano (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo Regional)
in front of the net. The goal was Graziano's second of the season.
Just 35 seconds later, the insurance goal proved beneficial as
the Peacocks of Saint Peter's came charging back to score a goal
and cut the lead to 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining. The two teams
battled the rest of the way, but neither could capitalize on several
scoring opportunities as the Bison came away with the one goal
victory.
Bucknell improves to 7-6-1 on the season and hosts the 25th-ranked
team in the country, Stony Brook, on Tuesday, October 17, at 5:00
p.m. Saint Peter's falls to 2-11 on the year.
