The Bucknell Bison volleyball team is proud to announce the hiring of Haylie Clark as the newest assistant coach.
"I am thrilled to have Haylie join our coaching staff," said head coach Tyler Hagstrom. "She has just finished a stellar playing career which will provide an immediate impact on our offensive training. She was also a multi-year captain, which will give her the ability to add tremendous value to the leadership and culture of the team."
Clark played volleyball at Elon University from 2018 through 2022. She collected several individual awards: 2022 All-CAA Second Team, 2021 CAA Championship All-Tournament Team, 2021 All-CAA Setter Team, and the Oct. 4 2021 CAA Offensive Player of the Week. Her most notable award was winning the 2021 CAA Setter of the Year.
She racked up a career total of 337 kills and 846 digs. Her 2,667 assists rank fifth all-time in the Elon record books. Clark finished her career with 37 Double-Doubles. She played a key role in the 2021 season when Elon finished 17-11 and made the CAA Tournament Championship game. The Phoenix lost the match to 26-4 Towson in five sets. In the contest, Clark led the team in aces and assists and was second in blocks and digs.
Clark graduated from Elon with a major in Sports Management and a minor in Business & Marketing. After graduation, she coached at the Piedmont Volleyball Club and the Volleyballer Training Academy.Â
"I am excited to begin my collegiate coaching career at Bucknell," said Clark. "I look forward to working with the coaches and the student-athletes and I am ready to get to work this off-season."
