Princess Livingston Zabel joined the Bucknell women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in July 2018. She spent the previous two seasons as the head coach at Central Connecticut State, where she mentored three all-conference selections in 2017. Before her stint with the Blue Devils, she was an assistant coach at her alma mater, Villanova, for two campaigns.
With the Wildcats, Zabel served as the recruiting coordinator and worked closely with the defenders and midfielders. She installed new defensive schemes and prepared detailed scouting reports on Villanova's upcoming opponents. In 2015, the Wildcats enjoyed a breakout year, reaching the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time in program history and placing four student-athletes on the All-BIG EAST squad.
Before returning to her alma mater, Zabel spent a season as a graduate assistant coach at Mercer University and a season as an assistant coach at Mount Olive. She helped lay the foundation for both first-year programs, with the Trojans becoming only the seventh Division II team in NCAA history to finish above .500 during an inaugural season.
Zabel was a three-year starter at Villanova, first at midfield and then at defense as a senior. She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology.
At Danbury High School, Zabel captured Honorable Mention All-America accolades as a senior and was twice named to the all-state and all-conference squads. She graduated with school records in single-season points (126), single-season caused turnovers (36) and career caused turnovers (73). She was later listed among the Danbury News Times's Top-25 Athletes of the Decade from Fairfield County.
Zabel lives in Lewisburg with her wife, Amanda, and their two dogs, Harper and Nova.
