Sport: Softball/Volleyball/Basketball Coach & Administrator
TERRIE GRIEB arrived at Bucknell in 1978 as a young coach, and 38 years later she is still a member of the Bucknell Athletics administrative team. Grieb began her tenure as head volleyball and softball coach as well as assistant basketball coach. During the 1980-81 academic year, she was head coach of all three sports, making her the only woman in Bucknell history to coach three sports in one season.
All told, Grieb served as head volleyball coach from 1978-84, head softball coach from 1979-90 and 1992-2000, head women's basketball coach in 1980-81, and assistant women's basketball coach from 1978-80 and 1981-91.
Grieb's greatest success came on the softball diamond, where she became the program's very first varsity head coach in the spring of 1979. She was a six-time conference coach of the year while amassing a program-record 307 victories in 21 seasons. Grieb guided the Bison to the 1997 Patriot League title. Eight of her former softball players are already enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Grieb was also Bucknell's first varsity volleyball coach and won 90 matches in seven years with that program, highlighted by a 22-11 season in 1983.
Grieb retired from coaching in 2000 and took over as associate director of athletics for business and team services, a post that she still holds.
