Kiem LeGrant joined the Bison football staff as video coordinator in 2024. LeGrant came to Bucknell from Alvernia University, where he coached the defensive line and served as assistant special teams coordinator as well as the director of football operations and video coordinator. LeGrant’s defensive line tallied 34.5 tackles for loss and was part of a unit that recorded 18 turnovers in 2023. The unit was led by freshman Stefan Rich, who collected 11 TFLs.
Prior to his stint at Alvernia LeGrant spent two seasons on the staff at Gettysburg College. In his first season in charge of the Bullets' defensive line and as an assistant on special teams, he coached first team all-conference performer Alex Raimondo, who is fifth all-time in program history in sacks and was a CSC Academic All-District honoree. In his second year, four of his linemen recorded multiple sacks, and Chris Singleton Jr. notched a program- and conference-record eight blocked kicks. LeGrant’s defensive line also held a team high 3.7 GPA with multiple players making Academic All-District.
LeGrant arrived at Gettysburg following a two-year stint as the co-defensive coordinator, defensive line, and running backs coach at Silver Oak Academy. He also commanded two special teams units during his time at Silver Oak. LeGrant spent time as a volunteer football coach for at-risk youth in York, Pa., from 2014-16, and he was an assistant coach at Christiana High School from 2011-13 while still playing collegiately.
LeGrant has Division II and Division III playing experience as a student-athlete. He began his collegiate career at perennial Division III powerhouse Wesley College, where he played defensive back. He helped the Wolverines reach the NCAA semifinals in 2011 and the NCAA quarterfinals in 2012. LeGrant appeared in a total of 18 games as a defensive back and return specialist, racking up 38 tackles, 412 kick return yards, and two touchdowns over his two seasons at Wesley.
He transferred to Division II Shippensburg University in 2013 and moved up to the defensive line, where he helped the Red Raiders rack up 30 turnovers in two seasons as an edge rusher. LeGrant graduated from Shippensburg with a degree in political science in 2016. Following Shippensburg, LeGrant spent one season playing professional Arena Football in the AIF. He has also previously served on the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Assistant Coaches Committee.
