David Galante was added to the Bucknell football staff as an assistant coach in March 2018. Galante, who was an offensive line coach at Rutgers in 2016 and 2017, works with the Bison offensive line.
At Rutgers, Galante coached the offensive line and recruited in New Jersey, New York, Ohio and South Carolina. He also played a key role in the day-to-day operations of the program and mentored two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention left tackle Tariq Cole. In 2017, the Scarlet Knights doubled their win total from 2016 and won three Big Ten games, matching their highest total since joining the conference in 2014.
Before his time at Rutgers, Galante spent four seasons at Kean University, where he coached one All-American, four all-region selections and seven all-conference honorees. He also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator and an assistant recruiting coordinator who traveled to high schools throughout New Jersey.
Galante was an offensive lineman at Kean University from 2007 to 2011. As a senior, he helped lead the Cougars to their first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament and a New Jersey Athletic Conference championship.
Galante was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, and was named to the 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team. He was also honored on the 2011 NJAC All-Academic Second Team and is a member of the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.
In 2013, Galante earned his Bachelor of Arts in physical education and also received his health teacher certification. In 2016, he completed his Master of Arts in counseling.
