Update from Head Cheerleading Coach Haley Koppenhaver -- October 2025

Dear Bison Cheer Family,
I am so excited to share that this season marks the beginning of a new chapter — my name is Haley Koppenhaver, and I couldn’t be more honored to lead the Bison Cheer team!
Thank you to all alumni, families, and friends for your continued support. Your generosity helps provide our team with essential equipment, healthy meals, proper hydration, and transportation to away games. Your support truly makes a difference and means the world to our athletes.
A little about me — Cheerleading has always been a huge part of my life. I was a student-athlete from high school through college, and I've had the opportunity to coach across various levels. I’m passionate about more than just cheer — I also focus on building leadership, teamwork, and professionalism in every athlete I coach.
Our preseason began the week before classes started, and our team hit the ground running. Seniors Kendall DeMorat and Dana Nguyen led with strong energy and initiative. They were joined by classmates Julia Piver, Abi Schwang, Katie Fitzgerald, and Livia Zlockie, who all helped welcome and support our six new freshmen.
The teamwork and positivity we’re seeing this year is outstanding. Everyone is stepping up and supporting each other, regardless of their class year, and the result is a strong, unified team.
We are also excited to invite you to our Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 4. Join us on the field and help us bring the spirit and pride to one of the biggest games of the year.
Date: Saturday, October 4
Location: Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium
Kickoff: 12:00 p.m.
We hope to see you there, cheering alongside us!
Looking ahead, the Bison Cheer team will be hosting a High School Stunt & Skills Clinic for students in grades 10-12. More details and registration information will be shared soon.
Date: Sunday, October 26
Location: Davis Gym
Check-In Begins: 12:30 p.m.
Once again, thank you for being part of the Bison Cheer Family. Your continued support allows our program to grow and opens doors for future opportunities like camps, competitions, and end-of-season celebrations. We are just getting started, and we’re so excited for what’s ahead.
With gratitude,
Haley
