Dear Bucknell Bison Friends and Family,
I hope 2024 has started well for you! Our team is back on campus and a couple of weeks into the new semester, and we are back in the gym in preparation for the fall. We spend much of January and February focused on individual and positional training as we build on our strengths from the fall. Then, for March and April, we’ll return to team training while also looking for a few scrimmages and play dates.
A few program updates to share: Junior Jordan Hardy, the 2023 Patriot League Libero of the Year, became the first Bucknell Bison in program history to earn AVCA accolades when she was named Northeast All-Region Honorable Mention. Our team earned a 3.4 cumulative GPA for the fall semester, with four student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 and a few more who almost achieved that feat. We also announced the signing of three future Bison for our incoming class. These players hail from Texas, Virginia, and Massachusetts, and we look forward to seeing them in Davis Gym in the fall.
We have a significant 24-hour period approaching for our program. The annual One Herd One Day 24-Hour Giving Challenge will be on March 26-27 from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Our program has historically been competitive with the sports across the athletic department during the challenge, but we are hoping to take that to the next level this spring. If you have not made a gift to volleyball or would like to help us win the challenge with an additional gift, please consider supporting these athletes in the One Herd One Day event.
Â
In a few weeks, we will return to the recruiting trail. If you happen to run into one of us at a tournament, please say hello! We love connecting with Bucknell alumni!
Thank you for your continued support!
