LEWISBURG, Pa. –The Bucknell men's soccer team fell on the road at Boston University 5-0 on Monday afternoon at Nickerson Field.

Bucknell remains tied for third on points in the Patriot League as Boston U. and Lehigh remain at the top of the league table with a 3-0 record.

Boston U. dominated the first half with a 3-0 score line through the first 45 minutes. Bucknell looked better in possession in the second half as the Terriers sat back defensively, but the Bison could not find a goal in the match.

The opening goal came just 11 minutes into the match as Dylan Williams finished off a corner with a good deflection. The initial ball went through the group of bodies in the box, and Williams turned in the second ball by Guillem Vila Ametller.

The Bison nearly leveled the score minutes later as Drew Roskos got in beyond the back line. Roskos beat his defender down the wing and played a great ball in to mason Lillis. Lillis tried to flick the ball towards goal, but the shot missed just wide.

The Terriers struck again in the 40th minute on a penalty kick by Andrea Di Blasio. Thomas Yerbury nearly saved the spot kick but missed by just inches as the shot went off the post and in. Lapo Romieri made it 3-0 just minutes later on a counter attack. Romieri received the ball at the corner of the box and perfectly passed his shot into bottom left corner.

Boston U. continued to play well in the second half defensively, and the Terriers scored two more to polish off the Bison. The fourth goal was an own goal as Romieri took a shot that appeared to be going wide, and Jacob Thomas' attempted block went into his own net.

The Terriers then got their second penalty of the day just five minutes later. Yerbury made a good save and looked to have jumped on the rebound, but a Terriers player kicked it away from his grasp. Another beat Collin Sullivan to the ball, and Sullivan clipped the attacker in the box for the penalty. Yerbury saved the initial attempt from Sebastian Otera, but the deflection went to the penalty taker for an easy finish.

Yerbury made five saves in the match as Boston U. fired 21 shots with 10 on target. Bucknell had just nine shots in the game with two on target.

Bucknell is back in action on Saturday on the road at American for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Reeves Field.
