Women's Tennis Travels for West Point Tournament

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's tennis is on the road for its second tournament of the fall season this weekend. The Bison are heading to the West Point Tournament in West Point, N.Y. from Friday, Sep. 25 through Sunday, Sep. 27.
The West Point Tournament will be played in an eight team format with Army sporting two different squads. Bucknell, Army, Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, NJIT, Marist and Fairfield will be in attendance.
Friday will be filled with doubles play in eight game pro-sets. Saturday will be singles play with eight game pro-sets. Sunday will close out the tournament with both singles and doubles play.

Bucknell's Last Time Out: Women's Tennis Sports Solid Start at Bucknell Invitational
- Bucknell women's tennis opened its Bucknell Invitational with four singles victories and 10 doubles victories.
- Isabella Massis and Jordan Lee made their collegiate debuts with Bucknell on day one of the tournament. Lee went 1-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles on the day, while Massis went 2-0 in doubles and 0-1 in singles.
- The Bison played Slippery Rock in doubles and took three of the five matches. Natalie Devraj and Summer Even-Esh won No. 2 doubles 6-4, Cameron King and Mariana Shulman took No. 3 doubles 6-2 and Jaycie Mair and Massis defeated Slippery Rock's No. 6 doubles team 6-1.
- Against Saint Francis Bucknell went 3-2 in singles play and 4-0 in doubles play. While the Bison fell to SFU's first and second singles players, they took the final three singles matches handedly. Shulman won at the No. 3 spot 6-2, 6-4, Kate Purpura took the No. 4 match 6-3, 6-4 and Lee dominated the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-0. In doubles the Bison took all four matches with Riley Jennings and Summer Even-Esh winning 6-4 at the No. 1 spot, Mair and King taking the No. 2 match 6-1, Purpura and Lee winning the No. 3 match 6-0 and Tori Allen and Natalie Devraj finishing off the No. 4 match 6-0 to complete the complete doubles sweep.
- Against IUP, the Bison went 3-2 in doubles. Jennings and King won the No.1 match 6-1, Devraj and Lee took the No. 3 match 6-1 and Purpura and Massis won the No. 6 match 6-4. Bucknell struggled in singles against IUP as Jennings was the lone Bison to earn a win. She took a 7-6(5), 6-2 victory at the No. 2 spot. Bucknell dropped the other four singles matches, two of which went to three sets.
Bucknell at a Glance
- The Bison opened the fall season with four singles victories and 10 doubles victories in its one-day Bucknell Invitational.
- Bucknell Women's Tennis finished the 2026 competition season 10-11 overall and 2-6 in the Patriot League. The team ultimately fell in the Quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament to Army 4-0, ending their season.
- In 2026 Bucknell saw one student-athlete on the First Team All-Patriot League list – Abby Platt. She has since graduated.
- Heading into the 2026-27 season, the Bison will be looking for a new student-athlete to take over No. 1 singles and doubles as Platt has been their No. 1 player for the past few years. Bucknell also lost Mirra Manolov and will have to fill her spot in doubles play.
- Seniors Tori Allen and Jaycie Mair have been named captains for the 2026-27 season.
- Overall, Bucknell returned eight players from last season, despite losing two of their regulars in the lineup. Allen and Mair return as the senior class. Natalie Devraj, Riley Jennings and Cameron King return as the junior class and Mariana Shulman, Kate Purpura and Summer Even-Esh return as the sophomore class.
- The Bison welcomed a freshman class of two this fall; Jordan Lee and Isabella Massis.
