Women's Hoops Heads to Hamilton to Face Colgate

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is on the road on Saturday, Feb. 7 to take on Colgate for the second time this season. The Bison are looking to expand its winning streak to three and sweep the Raiders this season with a win. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. in Cotterell Court.
Bucknell is currently leading the series with Colgate 58-25 and is on a four-game winning streak, including the contest earlier this season where Bucknell used a fourth quarter comeback to earn its first conference win of the season last month. The last time that the Raiders defeated the Bison was in February 2024. This will be the 84th meeting between the two teams since they first crossed paths in 1983.

- The Raiders come into the contest 6-16 overall with a 2-9 Patriot League record after falling to Army on Wednesday.
- The loss against Army broke a one-game winning streak for Colgate as they defeated Lehigh with a game-winning bucket 68-66 on Saturday, Jan. 31.
- Alongside the win against Lehigh, Colgate's other Patriot League victory came against Lafayette in the Raiders conference home opener.
- Colgate has dropped games to Army twice, American twice (once in overtime), Lehigh twice, Loyola, Boston University, Holy Cross and Bucknell in the two teams first meeting this season.
- In Colgate's last time out, the Raiders faced multiple scoring droughts throughout the game that hurt its chance to build a comeback, resulting in the team falling to Army, 59–35, on the Black Knights' Kids Day.

Bucknell's Last Time Out
- A fourth quarter shooting surge from Bucknell women's basketball earned it a 58-45 victory over American on Wednesday evening in Sojka Pavilion. With the win, the Bison (8-14, 4-7 PL) move ahead of the Eagles (6-16, 4-7) in the Patriot League standings and have their first multi-game winning streak of the season since the end of November.
- First half scoring came sparsely for both teams as they shot 29.4 percent combined and went into halftime with the Bison up just 22-19. Bucknell out-scored American 13-9 in the first quarter of play and kept the second close as the Eagles only outscored the Bison by one. In the second quarter of play, American saw its lone lead of the half before the Bison went into the break on a 4-0 run to take it back. Bucknell out-scored American by one in the third quarter to keep the game level until the Bison pulled ahead with their nine-point fourth quarter scoring differential.
- Tuana Coskun led the Bison with 21 points, including a 17-point explosion in the second half to power the Bison. Zemitis also landed in double figures with 12 points, going 3-for-6 from three. Mariah Hardy and Desirae Ashton continued their strong play inside as Elena Houghton and Elana Weisman are unavailable with injuries. Hardy had nine points on 3-of-6 shooting and 2-for-3 from the foul line. Ashton had eight points on 4-of-5 shooting. Ashton was a force in the first half with three steals and two blocks, but she did not see much time in the second half due to foul trouble.
- Bucknell shot 42.9 percent, including a near-60 percent mark in the fourth quarter. American shot just 29.6 percent in the game. The Bison committed 18 turnovers, but the Eagles could only cash in for eight points while the Bison scored 18 points off of American's 13 turnovers. The Bison won the rebound battle 39-29.
