Bison Fall to Army 4-1 on Friday Afternoon

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Despite taking both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches, Bucknell women's tennis fell to Army 4-1 on Friday afternoon at home in the Central PA Tennis Center. With the loss the Bison move to 5-5 overall on the season and 0-2 in Patriot League play.
The Black Knights clinched the game in singles play as they recorded three wins. Army earlier earned the doubles point as it took two of the three doubles matches.
Abby Platt and Riley Jennings were the lone Bison to win their doubles match as they bested their opponents 7-6(4) at the No. 1 spot in the first finished match. Platt was the lone Bucknell player to earn a singles win as she defeated Smith 6-1, 7-5(3) at the No. 1 spot.
Bucknell will next take the courts on Saturday, Feb. 28 for its first outdoor home match of the spring on the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Bison will take on Duquesne in their Pride match at noon.
Bucknell has also added another match to their weekend slate as it will host Michigan State on Sunday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. in South Williamsport at the Central PA Tennis Center.
