LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell volleyball played in Davis Gym for the first time in 2026 last weekend and the Bison defended its home court with two massive wins over Army and Colgate. Freshman opposite Marion Haskell played a leading role in the Bison's 2-0 weekend and the conference voters awarded her on Tuesday morning with Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors. It marks Haskell's first weekly laurel.
On a team filled with potent attackers, Haskell led the Orange & Blue in kills (32) and hitting percentage (.391) last weekend.
Haskell began the weekend on fire against Army, posting 14 kills on a sizzling .407 hitting percentage. Defensively, she provided two total blocks and her height diverted Army attacks all match.
She increased her contributions in the five-set thriller over Colgate by slamming home 18 kills on a solid .378 hitting percentage. The rookie also added a block and two digs.
Haskell has posted six double-digit kill totals and her 132 kills rank second on the team behind All-League standout Sidney Shaffer.
Bucknell volleyball remains at Davis Gym this weekend to face American (Oct. 10) and Holy Cross (Oct. 11).
