The Inside "Herd" on the Bison
- Bucknell's 2026 season has derailed with six consecutive losses. The Bison went 0-4 at the Julian Fraser Memorial albeit against a plethora of ranked and receiving votes foes. Bucknell narrowly fell to #13 Pacific, #1 (DIII) Pomona-Pitzer, and (RV) St. Mary's and decisively to #15 San Jose State.Â
- The Orange & Blue slid past George Washington earlier this season at Kinney Natatorium in a 14-13 overtime classic. Navy sunk Bucknell 15-8 in a game that saw Bucknell held scoreless in the fourth quarter after creeping within striking distance.Â
- The Orange & Blue were picked third in the MAWPC Preseason Poll.Â
- Tyler Hedblad paces Bucknell with 63 goals, followed by Jack Dillane with 49, Pier Giorgio Cicchetti has deposited 47, and Jovan Udovicic has come on strongly of late with 38 tallies.Â
- Goalkeeper David Dumitru has recorded 187 saves.Â
- Hedblad narrowly leads in points over Cicchetti, 144-143. Hedblad has 63 goals and 18 assists. Cicchetti has been a distributor with 47 goals and a team-high 49 assists.Â
- George Washington sits 10-16 overall and 1-6 in MAWPC play. The sole win came in a tight 17-15 victory over conference basement dweller Mercyhurst. Like Bucknell, the Revolutionaries have lost six straight games. GW's offense, despite the team's record, is dangerous with multiple double-digit scorers.Â
- The Midshipmen are 16-5 overall and 5-2 in MAWPC competition. They remain ranked #16 in the latest CWPA Poll. #5 Fordham snapped Navy's recent four-game winning streak in a 14-13 nailbiter. The Rams scored with 16 seconds remaining to escape the upset. Navy's only conference losses have been to #5 Fordham. Quinn Bartlett leads the Mids with 46 goals but Navy has a fleet worth of offensive options.Â
Bucknell will rest and refuel before the Bison host the MAWPC Championships on Nov. 20-22 in Kinney Natatorium.Â
