Althouse Named NFHCA Division I Honorable Mention

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Senior goalkeeper Sarah Althouse continues to earn recognition for her outstanding weekend. The Bison keeper received National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention, as announced Wednesday by the organization. Althouse had already earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week and Bison of the Week on Monday.

The weekly recognition is limited to one player per category and Althouse joins Lily Neilson, who won Offensive Player of the Week in 2024, as the only Bison to be recognized as either a Player of the Week or Honorable Mention. Interestingly, both Althouse and Neilson played Colgate as part of their curriculum vitae.

For the weekend, Althouse only allowed one goal in 150 minutes of game action with a .950 save percentage, a 0.40 goals-against average (GAA), and notched 19 saves.

Althouse enjoyed a 2-0 weekend against Colgate and La Salle. The Bison cage-defender recorded 12 saves and held the Raiders to one goal, despite facing 18 penalty corners and 23 shots. She drew an offensive foul to end the shootout in Bucknell's favor.

On Senior Day versus La Salle, Althouse posted seven saves en route to the 1-0 victory, clinching her 11th career shutout. The victory gave her 31 career wins, moving her into a tie for first place in program history.

The NFHCA National Player of the Week program honors an offensive and defensive player of the week, in each division, throughout the season.

Bucknell faces Lehigh this Friday in a pivotal conference showdown.
