Donner's DebriefingÂ
"It was a very good meet for both our men and women with two decisive victories. We showed great improvement from last week and our athletes competed hard and with some passion. Now we need to use this momentum over the next 2-3 weeks and continue to work hard and improve so we can be prepared for the championship meets."
The distance crew paced the Orange & Blue effort, collecting three of the six victories. Senior Henry Didden won the mile run with a time of 4:17.91, easily taking home the victory and ten points. Mason Barlow recorded a leisurely win in the 3000-meter run, racing 8:47.89, two seconds better than the nearest competition. Ethan Pratt-Perez, Bucknell's shining star during cross country, won the 5000-meter run by over eight seconds with his time of 15:06.21.Â
The Bison's other two wins arrived in the relays. The 4x400-meter relay "A" Team, consisting of young guns Nicholas Bouril, Colin Burke, Ethan Fianko, and Eamon Golden, blew away the competition with a time of 3:22.88.  The 4x800-meter relay "A" Team matched their counterpart's contribution. The quartet of JP Byrnes, Adam Dicken, Cooper Hollinger, and Carter Paul ran 8:04.10, winning by over six seconds.Â
Carter Paul represented the middle distance group with an impressive victory in the 1000-meter run. He edged out a Binghamton runner for first with a time of 2:29.93.Â
Luke Petryna finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.67.Â
The jumps group had a trio of third place finishers. Jeffrey Cianfrocca recorded a season best's mark of 6-6.75 in the high jump. Jason Lessieu enjoyed a banner day in the long jump with a personal best of 22-9.75. Thematically fitting, the mark arrived during his third attempt. Jared Hess rounded out the threesome with a 44-11 mark in the triple jump.Â
Michael Chernova continued the theme of three is a magic number by placing third in the pole vault. He cleared 14-11.Â
Two more runners registered third place finishes. Ethan Knight ran 8.40 in the 60-meter hurdles and Hayden Singer dashed 1:58.31 in the 800-meter run.Â
Bison throws contributed with Wade Shomper placing third in the shot put, tossing 55-6.50, and Aiden Tacker flung the weight throw 58-9.25 to finish sixth. Braiden Pulver finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 55-5.25, moving into fifth place all-time in Bucknell history.Â
Bucknell continues its busy schedule next weekend with two competitions - one at Penn State and one at home.Â
