LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is hosting Loyola (Md.) on Saturday, Jan. 24 at noon in Sojka Pavilion. The Bison are coming off of a loss at Army, while the Greyhounds enter the contest off of an overtime loss to Lehigh.

Bucknell is currently leading the series with Loyola 30-9, but dropped the contest with the Greyhounds earlier in the season 49-46, giving Loyola a one-game winning streak over Bucknell. The Greyhounds and Bison will play their 40th game on Saturday since meeting for the first time in 1984.

Bucknell women's basketball is entering its seventh season under head coach Trevor Woodruff. Woodruff was named Patriot League Coach of the Year in his first two seasons.
In addition to Woodruff and returning assistant coaches Edward Joyner Jr. and Shelby Case, the Bison had two new additions to their coaching staff in the off-season. Lauren Holden joined the Bison as the associate head coach and Danielle Patterson joined Bucknell as an assistant coach.

Loyola comes into the game with an 8-10 overall record and 4-3 Patriot League record.
The Greyhounds picked up their four conference wins against American, Colgate, Boston U. and the Bison earlier this season.
Loyola's three conference losses came at the hands of Lafayette, Army and most recently Lehigh.
In their last time out, the Greyhounds held the lead much of the night, while the contest pushed into overtime, but Lehigh edged them out 67-61 on Wednesday night at Reitz Arena. Loyola (8-10, 4-3 Patriot League) led for nearly 29 minutes and owned a plus-20 advantage in points in the paint, leaning on a balanced attack and steady defensive pressure. The Greyhounds took a 31-28 lead into halftime and extended it to 44-40 after three quarters before Lehigh rallied late.
Lex Therien leads Loyola in points per game (17.1), rebounds per game (8.9) and steals per game (1.8).

Bucknell's Last Time Out

Bucknell women's basketball (5-13, 1-6 PL) fell to Army West Point (15-3, 6-1 PL) 64-44 on Wednesday evening at Christl Arena. After a competitive first quarter of play that ended with the Bison down by just three, the Black Knights outscored Bucknell 23-5 in the second quarter to gain a 21-point halftime lead that the Bison would be unable to come back from, despite out-scoring Army 12-6 in the final ten minutes.
Tuana Coskun led the Bison in scoring with 16 points. Hope Masonius also put up double-digit points with 10. Isabella Casey led the team in rebounds with five and Elena Houghton put up three blocks on the evening, leading the team.
Bucknell out-shot Army from the field, thanks to a fourth quarter push. The Bison shot 20-of-45 while the Black Knights shot 23-of-52, just 0.2 percent less than Bucknell. Arm out-shot the Bison from three and from the free throw line. From there the Black Knights went 5-of-18 to Bucknell's 1-of-11 and from the line, Army shot 13-of-14 while the Bison shot 3-of-5. \The Black Knights out-rebounded the Bison 33-21 and recorded 16 assists to Bucknell's seven. Turnovers were close as Bucknell had 18 and Army finished with 15 on the night.
Bucknell had more blocks than Army with five to the Black Knights three, thanks to the three Houghton blocks. The Bison also recorded more steals than Army with 13 to their nine, however Bucknell was less able to score points off of those steals with only 13 points off of turnovers compared to Army's 23.
