
Women's Basketball Hosts Colgate on Saturday

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell women's basketball is back in Sojka for the second time this week for a conference game against Colgate. The Bison will play host to the Raiders for a 2 p.m. tipoff in Sojka Pavilion on Saturday, Jan. 17. Bucknell is looking to break its five-game losing streak and earn its first Patriot League win of the season in the home contest.
The Bison women hold an overall 57-25 record over Colgate and are currently on a three-game winning streak over Lafayette in the series. The two teams met for the first time in 1983, where the Raiders earned a 66-58 victory over the Bison. The last time Colgate defeated Bucknell was in February 2024, as the Raiders won 59-55.

- Colgate comes into the game 5-11 overall and 1-4 in the Patriot League after falling to Loyola on the road on Wednesday.
- The Raiders lone conference win came in their first Patriot League game of the season against Lafayette where Colgate took a 63-57 victory.

- In their last time out, Colgate's second-half comeback was one basket short of pushing for overtime, ultimately falling 49–47 to Loyola on Kids Day. Bucknell's Last Time Out
- After falling to a 12-point deficit early in the game, Bucknell (4-12, 0-5 PL) utilized a 12-0 run late in the second quarter that saw six different point scorers, to claw back and tie the game at 30 apiece heading into halftime. The comeback efforts wouldn't be enough as Lafayette (7-9, 3-2 PL) would quickly tally a second-half lead that the Bison were unable to come back from despite closing the gap to one in the third quarter.
- Tuana Coskun led the Bison in scoring with 16 points. Desirae Ashton matched her career-high of 10 points which she set on Saturday against Loyola. Ashton has been a spark off the bench for the Bison in recent games on both sides of the ball. She also added six rebounds, two steals and a block in the game.
- Lafayette had three scorers in double figures as Theresa Kiewet led all scorers with 20 points. Ntaconayigize had 14 points and Haylie Adamski scored 12 points. The Leopards shot 41.1 percent from the field and were 9-of-23 from three.
- The Bison struggled from the field, shooting just 27.7 percent and 18.2 percent from behind the arc. The Bison forced more turnovers as Lafayette had 13 compared to Bucknell's 10, but the Leopards scored more points in transition. Lafayette had the better of the Bison off the glass, winning the rebound battle 44-35 led by Krug's 18 rebounds.
