LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell senior Kira Leclercq capped her stellar weekend performance with her fifth career Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award, as announced Monday by the conference office. Leclercq played a decisive defensive role in Bucknell's 3-0 shutout of Saint Francis and scored the Bison's sole goal against Temple.Â
Leclercq now has earned Defensive Player of the Week in three consecutive seasons (one in 2023, three in 2024, and one in 2025), becoming the first Bison to record that distinction.Â
Her defensive presence against Saint Francis prevented the Red Flash offense from obtaining credible shots and opportunities. SFU, who entered the game averaging 2.5 goals per game, was completely stymied by Captain Leclercq's Bison defense. Her assist, as part of the three-goal effort, came when Reese Czajkowski scored off her beautifully executed aerial pass.Â
She scored Bucknell's lone tally against Temple. Leclercq received the penalty corner shot and hammered home her 15th career goal, cutting the deficit to 2-1, before the Bison ultimately fell 3-1 to the potent Owls.Â
Leclercq won the 2024 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and 2025 Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors.Â
Bucknell resumes action this Friday at local rival Penn State.
