Water Polo Faces Three Ranked Foes at Princeton Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell men's water polo (1-3) heads into its second weekend at the Princeton Invite, looking to pull upsets as the Bison challenge three ranked teams. The Orange & Blue start the weekend on Saturday playing #1 UCLA and conclude on Sunday dueling #16 Harvard and #9 Princeton. The Princeton game will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison

Bucknell started the 2025 season going 1-3 at the Bruno Classic. The Bison battled then #18 Harvard to a narrow 15-12 defeat. The Orange & Blue led MIT for most of the game before falling in double overtime. Bucknell lost to #17 Brown before holding on for a 16-15 win over Iona.
The Bison were ranked fourth in the MAWPC Preseason Poll.
Bucknell received one vote in the Top 20 Poll.
Tyler Hedblad leads the team with ten goals.
12 different Bison scored goals at the Bruno Classic.

Opposition Overview

UCLA made a strong statement in the opening weekend, going 3-0 and outscoring its opponents 54-16. 15 different scorers powered the Bruins' output.
Harvard sits at 3-1 after the Bruno Classic. The Crimson defeated Bucknell, Gannon, and Wagner and lost to #3 Fordham.
Princeton opens its season at its invite with six games. The Tigers went 23-9 last year and lost to Stanford in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
