
Zachary Corna Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Freshman safety Zachary Corna has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after a big defensive performance in the Bison's 35-28 victory over VMI on Saturday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
The Ohio native earned his first start of the season against the Keydets and made the most of his minutes.
Corna recorded a team-high 12 tackles in the game, including nine solo and three assisted. Six of Corna's tackles came in the second half when the Keydets were attempting a comeback.
He was also given Stats Perform FCS Freshman Player of the Week Honorable Mention honors for his performance.
The freshman previously had three tackles at Marist as a reserve safety for the Bison.
Bucknell now sits at 2-1 overall with its two-minute drill win over VMI. The Bison start conference play on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. as they take on Lehigh at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The game will also serve as Bucknell's Family Weekend game.
