
Women's Golf Lands Four WGCA All-American Scholars

LEWISBURG, Pa. Bucknell women's golf continued its trend of academic excellence by landing four athletes, Sophia Bardunias (San Ramon, Calif./Monte Vista), Paige Richter, Tara Thomas, and Nicole Yun on the 2024-25 WGCA (Women's Golf Coaches Assocation) All-American Scholars list. Bucknell's recipients boosted the Patriot League's overall total to 15.

The criteria for the academically vigorous award is detailed below:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Bardunias made an immediate impact as a freshman golfer. The rookie, majoring in Communications, compiled a 3.76 GPA while competing in 11 events over the fall and spring seasons. She earned First Team All-Patriot League honors and finished sixth at the Patriot League Championships, shooting a robust 78, 75, 77.
Richter continued her steady academic career earning an Academic All-Patriot League selection with her 3.51 GPA in Economics. She notched her third straight Second Team All-Patriot laurel and placed seventh at the Patriot League Championships, shooting 80, 71, 80.
Thomas graduated from Bucknell this spring with a 3.52 GPA in Civil Engineering. The senior played in 11 events over the fall and spring campaigns. She tied for 22nd at the Patriot League Championships, posting cards of 86, 83, 78.
Yun followed up her sparkling freshman debut with an even better sophomore campaign. The Biology major posted a 3.78 GPA while averaging a team-low 75.3 over seven rounds during the fall season. She finished 13th at the Patriot League Championships, two spots higher than her 2024 placement.
Bucknell women's golf will return this fall after finishing third at the 2025 Patriot League Championships.
