
Women's Water Polo Travels to Brown for the CWPA Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Bucknell women's water polo (14-12, 4-8 CWPA) enters the CWPA Championships as the fifth-seed and will face the host team and fourth seeded #20 Brown Bears (16-13, 7-5 CWPA) in Friday night action. Should the Bison pull the upset over the ranked foe, they will face first seeded #10 Princeton on Saturday. A defeat has Bucknell challenging the loser of second seeded #15 Harvard and seventh seeded Mercyhurst on Saturday. All tournament games will be streamed on ESPN+.Â

For fans attending the CWPA Championship, ticket prices are $35 for a three-day tournament pass or $15 for a one-day pass. Brown students, faculty and staff with a valid college ID, and senior citizens 65 and older, will be admitted at discounted prices of $10 (tournament pass) and $5 (one-day pass). All children 12 and under are free of charge. All tickets are exclusively available at the door as there will be no presale in advance of the championship.

- The Orange & Blue finished the regular season on April 12 with a narrow 14-8 defeat to #10 Princeton on Senior Day.Â
- The Bison honored three seniors Sidney Finkler, Izzy Lippolis, and Boati Motau.Â
- Ashley Hopper and Olivia Hopper received All-CWPA Honorable Mention and Second Team All-CWPA respectively when the yearly awards were announced yesterday.Â
- Olivia Hopper leads Bucknell with 77 goals. Ashley Hopper and Motau are tied for second with 29 tallies.Â
- Every Bison field player has found the net in the 2025 season showcasing Head Coach John McBride's ability at restocking Bucknell's cupboard after the past few seasons.Â
- Brown finished the regular season 16-13 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Bears completed the season going 2-1 at the CWPA Conference Crossover at Michigan. Brown defeated Bucknell and Saint Francis but fell to ranked Michigan. 11 Bears have double-digit goal totals and the team shoots a brisk 38%. Bucknell has lost to Brown twice this season: 13-10 and 11-7.Â
