RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Bucknell women's golf squad posted a 327 team total in the opening round of the Patriot League Championship on Friday at Saucon Valley Country Club. Freshman Sophia Bardunias led the way with a 6-over-par 78, and she is tied for ninth place in the 30-player field.
Paige Richter made a team-high four birdies and finished with an 80. Nicole Yun followed with an 83, Lila Smith and Tara Thomas both carded 86s, and Katherine Vice shot 87. Vice made an eagle at the par-5 third hole.
Navy jumped out to a big lead after the first of three rounds. The Mids posted a 4-over 292 and lead second-place Boston University (310) by 18 shots. Lehigh (325) is third, followed by Bucknell and Holy Cross (328).
All six Navy players are in the top seven in the individual standings, paced by co-leaders Vivian Cressman and Megan Kirkpatrick at even-par 72. Navy's Emma Tang and Boston University's Annika Manjunath are one shot back at 73.
Round two gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
