About the Bison
- After competing in 10 tournaments dating back to the first weekend in September, the Bison are set for 2025 Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted by Lehigh this weekend at Saucon Valley CC. Saucon Valley is the site of Bucknell's lone Patriot League title in 2014.
- Freshman Sophia Bardunias has been Bucknell's top performer this season with five top-10 finishes and a 77.2 scoring average. Bardunias will start in the No. 1 spot in the lineup, followed by junior Paige Richter, a two-time All-Patriot League performer.
- Nicole Yun, Lila Smith, Katherine Vice, and Tara Thomas round out the Bison lineup in the play-6, count-4 format.
- Bucknell enters the tournament playing its best golf of the spring. In the last two events, the Bison tied for first at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate and finished second at the YSU Spring Invitational.
- The Bison shot 297-299 at Youngstown, tying the school record for 36-hole score in relation to par (+10). Vice shot a career-low 73 in the first round and followed it up with another 73 in round two to finish in a tie for third place. Richter (7th) and Bardunias (8th) also placed in the top 10.
- Bardunias, Yun (77.7), Richter (78.6), Smith (79.4), and Vice (79.7) all have sub-80 scoring averages on the full season.
- Bucknell played at Saucon Valley at Lehigh's fall invitational in October and finished T-6th with scores of 324-322. Bardunias placed T-4th with rounds of 75-79 and Yun also had two rounds in the 70s (79-78) in an 11th-place finish. Â
- The Patriot League began sponsoring women's golf in 2013 – the Bison played 10 seasons in the Big South Conference until then – and Bucknell won the second championship in 2014 at Saucon Valley Country Club. Lauren Bernard, Bridget Wilcox, and Kasha Scott finished 3-4-5 to lead the charge.
- Bucknell hosted the inaugural championship in 2013 and was runner-up to Lehigh by three strokes, despite 2-3-5 finishes from Wilcox, Bernard, and Scott. The Bison hosted again in 2016 and 2024, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
- The Bison are looking to move up after placing fifth in each of the last three seasons. Last season they posted rounds of 313-306-306 for a 925 total. Navy finished with 882 for a nine-shot win over runner-up Boston University.
-  Paige Richter has finished in seventh place in each of her first two PL Championship appearances. Richter shot 76-77-73 last season on the way to her second All-PL medal.
