Women’s Tennis Heads to Florida For First Patriot League Match, Florida Southern and Southeastern

- The Bison women's tennis squad heads Florida for its spring break matches, featuring its first Patriot League match this season against Boston University as well as matches against Florida Southern and Southeastern.
- In their last time out, the Bison swept their weekend winning two duals back-to-back against Slippery Rock 4-3 and Mercyhurst 6-1. With the two wins, Bucknell improved its record to an even .500 at 4-4.
- The Bison are currently on a three-game winning streak heading into the week of play.
- After Cameron King leveled the match at 3-3 with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles, Whitney King won a tough three-setter at No. 1 to lift the Bucknell women's tennis team to its second straight victory, 4-3 over Slippery Rock.
- Whitney King leads the Bison with a 10-3 record in singles matches. Whitney King and Abby Platt are 6-1 in duals at No. 1 doubles, and the duo is 10-4 on the full season, leading the Bison in doubles play.
- Whitney King continues to climb Bucknell's career wins charts. She now ranks 13th in singles wins with 58, sixth in doubles wins with 72, and eighth in combined wins with 130.
Boston University at a Glance
- The Terriers are 4-5 on the season with its last match being a 5-2 loss to Brown.
- Before the loss to Brown, BU was on a two-game winning streak as they defeated Stony Brook 6-1 and Colgate 6-1. Now the Terriers are on a one-game losing streak.
- Madison Liu leads the team in singles victories with nine wins and one loss overall. Gabriella Mikaul is second on the team with a 6-1 record in singles overall.
- Liu is also part of the doubles team that leads the Terriers with a 5-2 record alongside Blanka DeMicheli. Uma Bakaityte and Gabriella Mikaul also have been playing as a doubles team in certain matches and are 403 overall in doubles play this season.
Florida Southern at a Glance
- Florida Southern comes into the weekend 5-2 after most recently defeating UNC-Wilmington 4-3.
- The Moccasins are currently on a roll putting together a five-game winning streak with victories over Michigan Tech, Charleston, Tiffin, Lake Superior State and UNCW.
- Olivia Bryant leads the team in singles play having a 5-2 overall and dual record heading into the weekend. Annika Berrendorf (4-1), Ronja Scheuermann (4-1) and Emily Jennewein (4-2) all follow closely with four wins each.
- In doubles play, the standout doubles team is Jolie Miller and Annika Berrendorf who hold a 4-2 overall and dual record for Florida Southern.
Southeastern at a Glance
- Southeastern is coming into the weekend 7-2 after defeating Cumberland University (Tenn.) 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
- The Fire are currently running hot as they are on a five game winning streak defeating Davenport, Warner, University of Mary, OUAZ and Cumberland.
- Isabella Bolivar Garces leads Southeastern in singles with a 6-1 overall and dual record. Alessia Ciampi (5-3) and Irene Lopez (5-2) follow closely behind with five wins each.
- The doubles team of Martina Picardi and Alessia Ciampi are currently undefeated at 4-0 overall and in duals, but Irene Lopez and Carlotta Nonnis Marzano have the most wins at 6-2.
