EASTON, Pa.- Bucknell men's track & field posted seven wins at the Lafayette Invitational on Saturday. The team continues to groove into shape and prepare itself for an ambitious April slate.
Results
Brian Scotto won the 110-meter hurdles and improved to sixth all-time in Bucknell history, racing 14.47. The senior has stayed healthy during the 2024-25 season, and the results have been consistently historic. Ethan Knight finished third (14.78) in the event, moving into tenth place on the Bucknell list.
Knight also won the 400-meter hurdles, logging 55.91. His mark conquered the event by nearly four seconds.
Cooper Hyken and Luke Petryna did not record top-five placements in the 100-meter dash, finishing sixth (10.66) and seventh (10.67), but, more importantly, their times unlocked a tie for eighth and tenth in Bucknell history.
The throws group headlined the overall effort, winning three out of four events.
"The group is beginning to find their groove in training," said throws coach Ryan Protzman. "Some of that translated to the competition today, while others still chase good feelings. Good takeaways from the weekend, and we are excited to get back to work."
Aiden Tacker won the hammer throw and improved to eighth all-time in Bucknell history on his personal record throw of 56.92m (186-9). Â
Angelo Regec conquered the discus throw by posting a personal record throw of 49.13m (161-2).
"Today's performance wasn't what I expected, but walking away with a one-meter personal best and an event win is great. I'm looking to build something special this season, and today is a solid brick to lay a good foundation."
Wade Shomper continued his hot streak in the shot put, winning the event tossing 16.59m (54-5.25).
Willem Masyra set a personal record and finished fourth in the javelin throw, tossing 54.18m (177-9).
Chris Sims won the triple jump with a 47-10.75 effort. The mark would have clinched top ten placement in Bucknell history and ranked 48th in 2025 Division I rankings, except the result was wind-aided.
David Carillo won the 5000-meter run by 19 seconds, logging 15:35.20.
Gabriel Pecaitis cleared the pole vault at 15-1 to set a seasonal best mark and finish second.
Dan Wuenschel clinched second (10:10.83) in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
