"Good start by the hammer crew," said throws coach Ryan Protzman. "Tacker put together a couple of solid throws - just looking to find some consistency to hit some big marks the rest of the year. Pulver has been on a roll - just working on the little things and letting his abilities shine. Braiden is always ready to go on meet day."
Tacker rebounded from his Raleigh Relays performance - where he misfired on all three attempts -Â with a solid mark of 58.67m (192-5.75) to comfortably win the event. After faulting on his first attempt, Tacker unleashed a momentum-building toss of 57.69m (189-3.25). The mark pushed him to first - a position he held as the finals began.Â
The winning distance arrived during his fourth attempt. He faulted on his last two attempts but the outcome still resulted in the senior thrower's second event victory of his career.Â
Braiden Pulver notched third place after connecting on five of his six attempts. Four of his five successful throwers crossed the 55-meter mark with the bronze-winning distance flying 56-44m (185-2). Pulver's best throw occurred in the finals - his fourth chance overall. The mark moved him to tenth all-time at Bucknell, displacing out teammate Owen Allen, who just earned that spot last weekend at the Battle of the BUs.Â
Speaking of Allen, the freshman thrower also competed. He did not equal his personal record but the throw of 53.97m (177-0.75) nestled him fourth. Fouls bookended Allen's four successful attempts. His best toss arrived during his second attempt.Â
The Colonial Relays continue tomorrow with a full day of action starting at 10:30 a.m.Â
