Ethan Pratt-Perez Lands Patriot League Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Ethan Pratt-Perez won an event and played a major role in a second place relay finish at the 60th Colonial Relays. The Bison men won their third consecutive Colonial Relays and the conference recognized Pratt-Perez's assistance in Bucknell's triumph by awarding the sophomore runner his first men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week laurel. Pratt-Perez is the first Bison runner since Josh Westwood on April 18, 2016 to earn the award.
"After a semi-rough indoor season, Ethan has really committed himself to his training and starting to put himself up to the next level," said head coach Kevin Donner. "He is only a sophomore and the best is yet to come."
The Bucknell sophomore ran 9:03.07 in the 3000-meter steeplechase to easily win the event by over nine seconds. His time sits 31st in the NCAA East rankings and, as of today, will qualify for the NCAA East First Round. He would be the first steeplechase runner to qualify since Matthew Forys in 2007.
He assisted the 4x1500-meter relay team placing second with a time of 16:08.65.
Bucknell hosts the Bison Outdoor Classic this weekend.
