
Shomper's Shot Put Win Headlines Keystone Challenge

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- Bucknell men's track & field shook the rust off at Shippensburg's Keystone Challenge and unlocked many successful results headlined by Wade Shomper's victory in the shot put.Â

Shomper continued his hot streak from the indoor campaign by opening the outdoor season with a first place victory in the shot put. The Bison star broke the 17 meter mark tossing 17.01m (55-9.75), nearly equaling his second-best mark in school history (56-2.50).Â
Several Bison athletes placed silver against the competition. Connor Goldfarb raced 49.85 in the 400-meter dash. Hayden Singer logged 1:58.79 in the 800-meter run - only 0.03 seconds away from tying for first. Freshman David Carillo ran 15:18.26 in the 5000-meter run. Michael Chernova and Gabriel Pecaitis both cleared 14-9 in the pole vault. Aiden Tacker threw the hammer 53.41m (175-3), finishing only six inches away from a tie for first.Â
Ethan Pratt-Perez began his outdoor career finishing third in the 3000-meter steeplechase. The rookie runner logged 9:37.28.Â
Both relay squad finished third. The 4x100-meter relay team of Brayden Young, Petryna, Goldfarb, and Sam Coughlin combined for 43.58. The 4x400-meter foursome of Zachary Jelinek, JP Byrnes, Singer, and Jackson DiRoma logged 3:33.01.Â
Tristan An cleared third place (6-4.75) in the high jump.Â
Fourth place witnessed several Bison residing there. Lucas Ward ran 4:08.75 in the 1500-meter run. Josh Tipton also reached the same placement going 21-11.50 in the long jump. Jared Hess joined his fellow jumper in the slot leaping 44-11.50 in the triple jump. Angelo Regec threw the discus 48.14m (157-11).Â
Petryna finished sixth (11.06) in the 100-meter dash.Â
Robert Kossick collected ninth (15.75) in the 110-meter hurdles.Â
Young placed tenth (23.10) in the 200-meter dash. James Riedinger finished the same in the javelin tossing the instrument 48.99m (160-9).Â
