Men's Track & Field Romps Binghamton in the Battle of the BUs

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Coach Kevin Donner celebrated the first dual win of his Bucknell career with a 125-36 rout of Binghamton in the styled Battle of the BUs on Sunday. The Bison men won 16 of the 18 events and unlocked four new top ten marks.Â
Results
Two Bison throwers notched victories and moved into Bucknell's top ten lists. Freshman Owen Allen won the hammer throw with a toss of 56.18m (184-4). The distance arrived during his fourth throw. The mark moved the rookie into ninth place at Bucknell.Â
Keenan LaMontagne achieved victory in the discus throw, flinging the instrument 52.07m (170-10). The mark came during his second chance and sits third all-time at Bucknell.
The strong rookie showing in the throws continued with wins in the javelin and shot put. Colin Krause easily won the javelin throw with his toss of 56.92m (186-9). Alex Polenik unlocked the shot put win, throwing 49-9.75.
Lucas Williams moved up Bucknell's all-time top 10 in the pole vault with his victorious clearing of 16-5.25. The junior now slots third in Bucknell history.Â
The 4x100-meter relay team made Bucknell history with its victory and time. The foursome of Cooper Hyken, Garrett Backus, Amani Brown, and Luke Petryna combined for a speed of 41.01 - fourth fastest at Bucknell.Â
The 4x400-meter relay team of Ethan Knight, Luis Colmenares-Bittar, Eamon Golden, and Robert Kossick achieved victory on a time of 3:22.22.Â
Bucknell won both jumping events - the triple jump was canceled due to lack of participants - as Jeffrey Cianfrocca took home victory in the high jump and Jared Hess triumphed in the long jump. Cianfrocca, who competed earlier this week at the Raleigh Relays, cleared 6-4.75. Hess jumped 22-10.75.Â
The sprints and hurdles group recorded several wins and top three finishes. Knight won the 110-meter hurdles, racing 14.98. He also earned the win in the 400-meter hurdles, galloping 54.51. Colin Burke won the two-man 400-meter dash with a time of 49.52. Petryna achieved victory in the 200-meter dash, zooming for 21.84. Backus clinched third place in the 100-meter dash, running 10.99.
The distance group picked up two wins. Ryan Pepperman easily won the 3000-meter steeplechase, registering a time of 9:22.21 - 19 seconds faster than the nearest competition. Michael Devine recorded the victory in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:06.98.Â
Ethan Pratt-Perez zoomed to victory in the 1500-meter run, recording a time of 3:54.27.Â
Carter Paul finished second in the 800-meter run, logging 1:56.47.Â
Bucknell heads to the Colonial Relays next weekend.Â
