About the Bison
- Bucknell will tee it up at the famed Torrey Pines South Course for the three-day, 54-hole UC San Diego Invitational.
- Patrick Pritsios, Jack Hartman, Michael Rudnick, James Key, and James Robbins will represent the Orange & Blue against a strong field on a 7,800-yard course that has hosted two U.S. Opens and a regular PGA Tour event. Bucknell will be grouped with host UCSD, DePaul, and Gonzaga in the first round on Sunday.
- This is Bucknell's third spring tournament. The Bison previously finished 15th at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Arizona and T-14th at the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach. Bucknell has compiled a 297.0 spring scoring average and a 295.9 mark including the fall season.
- Hartman is enjoying a strong rookie season. At Loyola's event at Palm Valley GC, he shot 72-69-66 in a sixth-place finish. The 6-under 66 was tied for the second-best round in school history in relation to par. Hartman leads the team with a 71.0 spring average and a 73.1 mark for the full season.
- Rudnick shot a 1-under 71 in round two in Arizona and has a 74.4 average this spring. Pritsios is next with a 75.0 spring average.Â
- This is Bucknell's third straight year playing in UCSD's event at Torrey Pines, but the previous two came on the North Course.
- The South Course at Torrey is considered the more challenging of the two tracks and has played host to the 2008 and 2021 U.S. Open Championships. It is also home to the annual Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour.
- The Bison finished 12th out of 17 teams in last year's tournament, posting rounds of 305-296-292. Key (76-75-72), Robbins (80-78-73), and Rudnick (83-73-77) are all back after playing here last year.
- Bucknell finished T-11th out of 15 teams in 2023, despite finishing 4-under as a team over 54 holes. Oklahoma Christian won it at 32-under, and nine teams finished double digits under par. Rudnick was also in the lineup that week and shot 76-71-75.
- North Dakota State is the defending champion. The Bison finished at 7-under 857 and was the only team in red numbers last year.Â
- Bucknell is back in action on Apr. 5-6 at the Testudo Cup, hosted by Maryland at the P.B. Dye GC in Ijamsville, Md.
- The Bison will also play in Penn State's spring event Apr. 12-13 before hosting the 2025 Patriot League Championship Apr. 25-27.
