
Women’s Tennis Ends Florida Trip with 4-0 Win

Lakeland, Fla. — Bucknell women's tennis defeated Southeastern University 4-0 on Wednesday to end their Florida trip on a high note, breaking a two-game losing streak while not giving up any sets to the Fire. The Bison move to 5-6 on the season with the win.
Bucknell's win was highlighted by three players who won in both doubles and singles: Whitney King, Abigail Platt, and Riley Jennings.
King and Platt opened up the day with a doubles win over Bolivar Garces and Parigi 6-2 on Court 1. Jennings and her doubles partner Caroline Marcus also took their match over Lopez and Marzano 6-3 on Court 3 to secure the doubles point for the Bison. The final doubles match went unfinished.
In singles, Bucknell won three-straight matches to take the 4-0 victory over the Fire. All three went in Bucknell's favor in straight sets as King defeated Bolivar Garces at No. 1 (6-1, 7-5), Platt defeated Neiberline at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2), and Jennings defeated Marzano (6-1, 6-2) at No. 6. The final three singles matches went unfinished.
Next up for the Bison is another road match, this time at Saint Francis in Loretto, Pa., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.
