
Women’s Golf Opens with 317 at Advance Golf Partners Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. – Lila Smith and Tara Thomas carded matching 76s to lead the Bucknell women's golf team on the opening day of the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro at Hammock Creek GC. The Bison, in action for the first time in 2025, compiled a 317 team score and are in 17th place in a quality field after the first of three rounds.
Smith birdied the par-4 7th hole and Thomas the par-3 14th, and both made 11 pars en route to 76. Sophia Bardunias led the team with four birdies but finished with an 82, and the Bison also counted an 83 from Katherine Vice. Paige Richter added an 85, and indy Katrina von Behren shot 87.
Led by a 7-under 65 from Valentine Delon, Virginia Tech counted four under-par rounds and has opened up a 16-shot lead on the rest of the field. The Hokies posted a 13-under 275, well ahead of second place East Tennessee State (291). Arkansas State (292), Morehead State (293), Memphis (296), and UNCG (296) round out the top five.
Delon opened with a par and then birdied the next five holes. She added two more on the back nine, but her bogey-free 65 is only two shots better than Claire Swathwood of Memphis, who shot 67. Katherine Lemke is third at 3-under.
The second round gets underway on Monday at 8 a.m.
