RESULTS
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Bucknell men's tennis team won its fourth straight match, 5-0 over Morgan State on Sunday at the Central PA Tennis Center. The Bison improved to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 at home after taking all three doubles matches, followed by four straight-set wins in singles.
Adam Stavrakas (No. 2), Brendan McDonald (No. 4), Shiv Singh (No. 5), and Felix Steindl (No. 6) dropped only nine combined games on their way to singles wins. Stavrakas, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Week, was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Makkijha Brown on Court 2.
McDonald bested Majdi Ben Abdelwehid 6-1, 6-0; Singh downed Mohamed Ridha Ghettas 6-1, 6-1; and Steindl topped Anthony Parris 6-0, 6-4.
When the match was halted, Liam Kilmer was up a set and 1-1 in the second at No. 3 singles, and Amar Tahirovic was looking to bounce back after dropping the first set to former MEAC Player of the Year Mikeal Carpenter at No. 1.
Earlier in the day, Tahirovic and McDonald posted a 6-3 win over Carpenter and Brown at first doubles. Stavrakas/Singh and Kilmer/Steindl both won by 6-4 counts as Bucknell secured the doubles point.
Bucknell is now 3-0 at home this spring, and they will play twice more at the Central PA Tennis Center as part of a three-match weekend next week. The Bison host Drexel on Friday and Binghamton on Sunday, with a trip to Duquesne in between on Saturday.
