Water Polo Hosts 2025 Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell women's water polo team opens its 2025 home pool slate with the annual Bucknell Invitational. The Bison will welcome five schools to participate in the event and will play four games against four different teams. All Bucknell games will be streamed on YouTube and all the tournament contests will also be streamed on YouTube.

The Inside "Herd" on the Bison

Bucknell continued its hot start with a 3-0 weekend against official competition at the VMI Invite. The Bison defeated Gannon, McKendree, and Mount St. Mary's. Bucknell dropped a 9-7 exhibition match to the University of Toronto.
The 5-1 record is Bucknell's best start since the 2020 season. The Bison began that campaign 6-0.
16 different players have recorded a goal for the Bison out of the 17 field options.
Freshman Olivia Hopper leads the team with ten goals. Her twin sister Ashley Hopper has notched seven scores.

Opposition Overview

La Salle sits at 0-7 but has played four ranked teams, including three squads at last week's Bruno Classic.
Siena holds a 1-5 record after the first two weekends. The Bison defeated the Saints 9-8 at the Princeton Invitational.
Saint Francis is 4-2 on the year but 5-2 if counting the win over Toronto. The Red Flash defeated La Salle and Siena but lost to Mount St. Mary's. SFU is a CWPA foe and starts the 2025 conference campaign for Bucknell.
Mercyhurst has a 1-2 record after opening the season at the Villanova Tournament. The Lakers joined the CWPA this year.

Up Next

The Bison will rest for a week before traveling to New England on Feb. 22-23 for three conference games versus Brown, Harvard, and Princeton.
