LEWISBURG, Pa. – Five Bucknell swimmers earned spots on the 2025 All-Patriot League Teams on Tuesday after outstanding performances at the league championship meet at Kinney Natatorium over the weekend. Sophomore Sara Ketron joined Patriot League Rookie of the Meet Clara Renner on the First Team, and seniors Andy Dorsel, Chris Kopac, and Skye Sunderhauf were all Second Team honorees. Dorsel and Kopac both became four-time All-Patriot League honorees.
The swimmers and divers who place first in individual events at the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship automatically qualify for the All-League First Team, while runner-up finishers are guaranteed at least a Second Team spot. The 18-person teams are completed based on overall points compiled during the championship.
Renner was the fifth-highest scorer and tops among all freshmen on the women's side with 88 points. After claiming a gold medal and two silvers, Renner became Bucknell's fourth Rookie of the Meet since the award's inception in 2005. She joined Emma Levendoski (2013), Maggie Wyngowski (2018), and Sabrina Vumbacco (2020) on the prestigious list.
Renner's first career conference championship came in the 400-yard individual medley, and she claimed silver in both the 500 and 1,650 freestyles. Army's Molly Webber, who won both distance free events on the way to her second straight High Point Scorer of the Meet honor, was the only Patriot League swimmer to beat Renner in a race all season. Renner also earned a bronze medal with the 800 free relay on the opening night of the meet.
Ketron established herself as one of the league's top sprinters this weekend, when she had a hand in three school records, won a silver medal with the 400-yard freestyle relay, and finished as one of the 15 highest scorers in the meet. Her 75 points in individual events were the second-most on the team behind Renner and were the most among all sophomores in the meet.
Ketron's most notable feat was breaking Molly Goebel's 16-year-old school record in the 50 free. Goebel's 23.20 at the 2009 Patriot League Championships was the oldest swimming record in the books, and Ketron finally bettered it with a 23.00 in the prelims on Thursday. Swimming in her home pool, she posted a 23.04 in the A Finals later that evening. That was good for a fourth-place finish, just .02 off the medal stand.
Ketron also contributed to school records in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. On the final day of the meet, she finished fourth in the 100 free with the third-fastest time in school history, and then she capped off her weekend by swimming the leadoff leg on the silver-medal-winning 400 free relay.
Sunderhauf earned a Second Team All-League citation after scoring 60 points at the Patriot League Championships. She made A Finals in back-to-back events on the final day of the meet, finishing sixth in the 200 breaststroke and eighth in the 200 butterfly. She also placed 13th in the 400 IM.
Dorsel led the men's squad with 65 individual points this year. He finished fourth in the 200 IM, fifth in the 400 IM, and 13th in the 200 fly. His time of 1:47.10 in the 200 IM was a PR and the second-fastest in school history. He also ranks third in the 200 fly and fourth in the 400 IM in school history.
Dorsel and Kopac were both members of the 800 free relay that captured bronze medals and missed a school record by an agonizing .01 seconds. Kopac recorded 61 points this year, finishing sixth in the mile, seventh in the 200 free, and 13th in the 500 free. He also led off the 400 free relay that finished fourth with the second-best time in school history, this time just missing the school record by a mere .10. Kopac graduates with two First Team and two Second Team All-Patriot League citations, and he departs with the school record in the 200 free.
The Bison women finished third and the men fourth in fields of 10 teams at this year's Patriot League Championships. Bucknell will be back in action this weekend with a contingent of swimmers competing at the ECAC Championships in Annapolis, Md.
