Stavrakas Makes it Five Straight Patriot League Player of the Week Honors for Bison Men’s Tennis

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's tennis team has taken ownership of the Patriot League Player of the Week award. Junior Adam Stavrakas earned his third citation of the spring on Tuesday, and the Bison have now garnered all five weekly awards this season.
Stavrakas won all three of his completed matches this weekend as Bucknell posted team victories over Villanova (6-1) and Saint Joseph's (4-3). Stavrakas played No. 1 singles against Villanova and won his match 6-0, 6-1 as the Bison cruised to victory. One day later, he was a 6-2, 7-5 winner at No. 2 singles against Saint Joe's.
In doubles, Stavrakas and Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega won 7-6 against the Hawks, and they were leading 4-3 against Villanova when the doubles point was clinched.
Classmate Amar Tahirovic has Bucknell's other two Patriot League Player of the Week honors as Bucknell is now 5-for-5 on the season.
Stavrakas is now 20-3 in singles this season, and the Bison are 7-2 in dual matches. Bucknell will be headed to the West Coast later this week to play in the Pacific Coast Doubles Tournament in La Jolla, Calif.
